July 2, 2008 - Next season, a familiar face will be on the sidelines for the UVic Vikes women's rugby team. Brad Skene, who has previously served the program in two separate stints, will take over the reigns as head coach.


June 26, 2008 -  Fresh off capturing their first RCGA University/College Championships, the UVic Vikes women’s golf team has announced the addition of Kylie Frederick for the upcoming 2008-09 season.


June 20, 2008 - Clint Hamilton, Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Victoria, has been appointed Canadian Interuniversity Sport President Elect. 


June 18, 2008 - Four more UVic Vikes alumi have qualified for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Canada's women's eight crew, featuring four former Vikes rowers, took top billing at the last-chance qualifier to earn an Olympic berth.


June 17, 2008 - For the second straight year, the UVic Vikes will host a pair of NCAA hoops teams over the Labor Day weekend. This year the Michigan State Spartans and Pacific Tigers will face-off against the Vikes.


May 30, 2008 -  The UVic Vikes captured the 2008 RCGA University/College Championships, ending the UBC Thunderbirds four-year reign. The Vikes finished the 72-hole tournament at Cordova Bay golf course four-strokes ahead of the T-birds.


May 30, 2008 - Entering the final round 17-strokes behind, the UVic Vikes could not catch the UBC Thunderbirds. UBC captured their first RCGA University/College Championships, finishing with a team score of 1137.


May 29, 2008 -  The UVic Vikes men's golf team carded the third round's low team score, but will enter the final round of the RCGA University/College Championships trailing the UBC Thunderbirds by 17 strokes.


May 29, 2008 -  The UVic Vikes will take a seven-stroke lead into Friday's final round at the RCGA University/College Championships. Christina Spence remained atop the leaderboard with a four-over 75.


May 28, 2008 -  Christina Spence finished the day atop the leaderboard with an even-par 71, and the UVic Vikes widened their lead to four strokes over the UBC Thunderbirds at day two of the RCGA University/College Championships.


May 28, 2008 -  After the completion of two rounds at the RCGA University/College Championships, the UVic Vikes held their position in second place, however the deficit by which they trailed the UBC Thunderbirds widened.


May 27, 2008 -  The RCGA Championships couldn't have gotten off to a much better start for the UVic Vikes. Behind their best single-round team total of the season, the Vikes ended day one with a three-stroke lead over the four-time defending champion UBC Thunderbir


May 27, 2008 - With the opening round in the books at the 2008 RCGA University/College Championships at Cordova Bay, the UVic Vikes sit four shots back of the lead. 


May 26, 2008 - With the RCGA University/College Championships set to get underway Tuesday morning, the RCGA announced the pairings for the opening two rounds.


May 24, 2008 - With warm, sunny weather at Centennial Stadium, there was not much more the UVic Vikes middle distance team could have asked for in a day's worth of competition at the Pacific Athletics Invitational.


May 23, 2008 - The UVic Vikes placed 12th overall at the NAIA National Championships, matching their standing from the previous year. Anne Balser led the Vikes with a 13th place individual finish.


May 21, 2008 - In less than a week's time, the UVic Vikes will host the sixth edition of the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) Canadian University/College Championships. The tournament takes place at Cordova Bay Golf Course, May 26-30.


May 20, 2008 - The Vancouver Island high school champion in the 3000-metre and 1500-metres, Curtis Holt, has committed to compete for the UVic Vikes middle distance team in 2008-09.


May 16, 2008 - Mitchell Evanecz shot a two under par 70 on the final round of the NAIA National Championships at the Indiana National Golf Club, lifting the UVic Vikes to a ninth place team finish.


May 15, 2008 - With 54 holes completed at the NAIA National Championships at the Indiana National Golf Club, the UVic Vikes men's golf team sits at 12th place heading into the final round.


May 12, 2008 - The outdoor season opened for the UVic Vikes with a gold medal sweep in the 1500m events at the Ken Shannon Invitational. Ashley Hinther won the women's race, while Daniel Mallie took gold in the men's.
