The Vikes success extends to the classroom. Last year 60 student-athletes were recognized as Academic All-Canadians.
Academic All-Canadian distinction is presented to varsity athletes who maintained a grade-point average of over 6.6 (A equivalent) in the previous academic year. In the instance of CIS sports, student-athletes were also recognized as CIS Academic All-Canadians.
All-Canadians are recognized each year at a special Honour Roll luncheon presented by Grand & Toy.
The Vikes student-athlete with the highest academic average is annually recognized at the Vikes Athletics Awards Banquet with the Provost’s Award for Excellence. The 2009 recipient was men’s swimmer and Science major Remy Mock.
