The Surrey Lions spoiled the the University of Victoria men's field hockey home-field advantage, defeating the Vikes 7-4 on Feb. 6.
Derrick Norton netted a pair of goals to lead UVic, while Max Laird and Pat Howell added singles.
"Our game today didn't go too well," said Vikes head coach Michael Lee. "We struggled early in the game but did have a very strong finish."
The Vikes scored two of their four goals in the final 12 minutes and were awarded three penalty corners during that period.
"We were in complete control late in the game, we just ran out of time," Lee said, adding Dave Bell played a strong game in the backfield, while Norton and Howell were standouts in the midfield.
