VICTORIA, B.C. - The University of Victoria Athletics and Recreation department is pleased to announce UVic graduate #Teri Kerr# as the new athletics alumni and annual giving officer.
 
Kerr will be transitioning from her role as a career assistant with the UVic Career and Co-op Services department to the UVic Athletics and Recreation department beginning May 22.
 
“We look forward to Teri's contributions in our priority of engaging our valued alumni and generating funds for our Vikes student-athletes and programs,” said #Clint Hamilton#, athletic director for Vikes Athletics and Recreation.
 
For over 15 years, Kerr has gained experience in administration and event coordination through positions with Coast Capital Savings, Elections BC, Elections Canada and as a self-employed business operator.
 
On the side, Kerr is an avid volunteer with the Victoria Racquet Club Minor Hockey Association working as a registrar, tournament coordinator and association administrator.
 
“I've run tournaments and fundraisers for seven years specifically to raise funds for sport,” said Kerr. “I'm excited to know my skills and passion for sports will actually be used productively in supporting Vikes students and programs.”
 
Being an avid golfer as well as a dedicated hockey, lacrosse and baseball mom, Kerr believes involvement in sport helps in developing career skills.
 
“I'm just going to put my own stamp on the position,” said Kerr, who is eager to take the next step in her career path.
 
 The UVic alumni relations and annual giving officer is responsible for leadership fundraising, reunion giving, alumni aspects of campaigns, and the creation and implementation of strategies for alumni programs and services. Kerr will be at the communication forefront for all Vikes alumni and staff.
