The hardworking forward was an indispensable part of the 1980s basketball dynasty at UVic, capturing four CIAU National Championships during his five-year career. Dukeshire exemplified what it was to be a Viking during the Ken Shields era, bringing a workman like attitude to both ends of the court.  A testament to his commitment and dedication to the basketball program, Dukeshire never missed a regular season game due to injury, playing a total of 90 straight games.

During his university career, the iron man would average 10.2 points-per-game and grab 5.7 rebounds-a-game However, the hulking post would best be remembered for the role his played in leading the Vikings to the 1981-82 CIAU Championship Title. Playing in front of sold out crowd at Victoria's Memorial arena, Dukeshire had a tournament to remember, averaging 15.3 points-per-game en route to being named CIAU Tournament MVP.

The Oak Bay high school graduate would be also named a CIAU 2nd Team All-Canadian (1982), and was twice honoured as a Canada West 1st Team All-star (1981, 82). Dukeshire was inducted into the Oak Bay Sport Hall of Fame.
