VICTORIA - The UVic Vikes men's field hockey entered the holiday break winners of a 4-1 decision over Surrey based India Club in VFHL action Sunday afternoon.

After being held winless through their first seven games of 2009-10, the Vikes have won two of their last three games, including a 5-4 win two weeks ago against the defending league champion VRC Jokers.

On Sunday at UVic's Field Hockey Turf, the Vikes overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit with four unanswered goals in the second half. #Kevin Laidman# scored twice, and #James Kirkpatrick# and #Derrick Norton# also added scores.

The win improved the Vikes record to 2-6-2 for 8th place. League play does not resume until the New Year with the Vikes playing Burnaby on January 24th.
