VICTORIA - Last year's inaugural Vikes Championship Breakfast raised $330,000 for athletic scholarships. This year's event will take place on Tuesday, September 29th and features keynote speaker Bob Lenarduzzi, President of the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Seven hundred and fifty guests packed McKinnon Gym last September with the sold-out event raising significant dollars for UVic student-athletes. In the highly competitive recruiting world, AFA's are a significant determinant for prospective student-athletes and enable UVic to attract the top student-athletes from across Canada.

Bob Lenarduzzi will be this year's keynote speaker, following men's basketball alumnus and Vice-President of Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment Chris Hebb addressed the gathering last year. Lenarduzzi has been involved with the Whitecaps organization for close to three decades, excelling as a player, coach, General Manager, Director of Soccer Operations and now President.
