VICTORIA – Thursday afternoon on Vikes Radio, the finalists were announced for the Vikes Athletics Awards Banquet major awards. The Celebration of Champions takes place Tuesday, April 6th at the Victoria Conference Centre.

The Celebration of Champions recognizes the outstanding individual and team accomplishments from the past varsity season. Major individual awards to be distributed include the Provost Award for Excellence, Robert T. Wallace Shield Rookie of the Year, Chancellor's Award, Publisher's Award, Male and Female Athletes of the Year, the President's Cup.

Additionally, the UVic Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2010 will be inducted at a ceremony prior to the athletics banquet. This year's inductees include women's field hockey player Laurelee Kopeck and women's basketball player Tracie Sibbald.
