FREDERICTON - On Wednesday morning, the UVic Vikes men's golf team completed their weather-delayed round two at the Golf Canada University Championships. The Vikes stayed in seventh, and leader #Mitch Evanecz# held ground in sixth.

The Vikes were forced off Kingswood Park course on Tuesday with heavy rains, and play resumed early Wednesday morning. UVic finished their second round with a team score of 597, but only 17 strokes off the lead currently held by the UBC Thunderbirds.
The women's team completed their second round before rains struck. Anne Balser (75, 74) is second overall at five-over, and UVic sits second in the team standings.
WOMEN'S ROUND TWO RECAP
Evanecz (71, 72), who was four-under through four holes yesterday, finished his round at even par to lower his tournament score to one-under. The Red Deer native is tied for sixth and sits five strokes behind leader Phillipp-Andre Bannon of Montreal.
Meanwhile, rookie #Sam Holland# (72, 75) dropped to 19th place at three-over, twin brother #James Holland# (77, 77) gained some ground in 57th place, #Jordan Ediger# (76, 78) is tied for 57th, and #Steven Lane# (79, 77) improved to 69th.
It will be a busy day for the Vikes, who have a short rest before teeing off for round three later this morning.
