TORONTO (U SPORTS) – Madison Aberg of the University of Victoria Vikes women's rugby team and Sebastian Colyn from the Trinity Western Spartans men's soccer team are the U SPORTS Male and Female Athletes of the Month for September 2017.

Colyn, a first-year keeper from Langley, B.C., went 4-2-4 in 10 games, highlighted by 2-0 victory on Sept.23 against the then-No.1 ranked Alberta Golden Bears. The win was one of four shutouts for the rookie goaltender, who finished the month with a 0.97 goals-against average, and 39 saves on 48 shots.

Aberg's best performance of the month came on Sept. 24 when the Vikes veteran crossed the try line five times in a 59-20 win over Lethbridge. Aberg was previously named U SPORTS Athlete of the Week and Canada West Female First Star of the Week for her performance against Lethbridge.
