Favourite moment as a Vike: Being courted by Cate White in June of 2014 and subsequently having an extraordinary season making gains together 1x and 2x.
Most influential athlete/ mentor in your career: Douglas White, my coach at the Victoria City Rowing Club. I joined the group as a novice after about 6 months of rowing as a junior and rowed for him until I joined the Vikes. He provided a positive and encouraging environment that allowed me to progress at my own speed and take on challenging opportunities.
Favourite pump-up song: Any song with Chromeo or Daft Punk.
Favourite workout: Any workout where I can push my limits.
Favourite recovery meal: Peanut butter, smoothies, eggs, peanut butter, Floyd’s diner, and peanut butter.
Favourite pre-workout meal: Oats
Favourite cross-training activity: Cycling
Degree/Area of Study: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Favourite race/regatta: The race that inspired the most confidence in my ability and hard work was the lightweight 1x final at the National Rowing Championships in 2014. I approached the race with a focused mentality and executed the race technically and strong, yielding a pleasantly unexpected result. The San Diego Crew Classic, Brown Cup, and Henley were also memorable races.
Favourite place to eat on campus: Anywhere. I sometimes feel like I am constantly eating, conveyer belt style.
Favourite place to hang out on/near campus: My bed at my house in Cadboro Bay.
Favourite thing about living in Victoria: The smell of the ocean, beautiful 360 degree views from the top of nearby mountains, and the laid-back atmosphere.
