On July 2008, Michelle Peterson joined the the Vikes Athletics and Recreation team as the Manager of Operations and Infrastructure.
Peterson moved to Victoria after graduating from high school in Edmonton and later started her own business, the Cadboro Bay Business Centre. Her business provided adminstrative support to private consultants and community-based businesses. She then sold her business to come and work at UVic, where she worked in the Faculty of Business for a year and then spent 11 years in the VP Academic Office prior to joining the Vikes team.
She believes that CARSA (Centre of Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities) is currently one of her biggest initiatives as she strongly believes that it has the potential to serve as a catalyst for how the Vikes can further support UVic's strategic initiatives around student recruitment, retention and success. Outside of work, Peterson is active in running and golf.Â
