FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
In her last race as a Vikes varsity athlete, fourth-year captain Larissa McKinlay led the women’s varsity rowing team to victory this past weekend on the Gorge in Victoria. The Vikes captured the 24th annual Brown Cup, a rivalry race between the University of Victoria and UBC. Victoria’s crew finished the race in a time of 11:41.35 beating the Thunderbirds by just over nine seconds. The win also marks the second-straight Brown Cup title for the Vikes women after taking last year’s title on the mainland.
