Eric Hedlin, an Engineering student from San Diego, California, opened up the Canada West Swimming Championships strong with a gold in the 1,500-metre Freestyle. The second-year Vike added bronze as part of the 4x100 Freestyle Relay on Saturday and a silver in the 400-metre Freestyle on Sunday.
