Vikes return for final home stand

With just four games remaining the UVic Vikes men's soccer team will need a strong showing in their final '09 match at Centennial Stadium to secure a postseason berth.

GAME INFORMATION
Sat. Oct.17 vs. Fraser Valley Cascades (Centennial Stadium) - 2:15 p.m.

SCOUTING THE VICTORIA VIKES
The Vikes have prospered at home this season winning four out of their five matches at Centennial Stadium. Of their 16 goals, 11 have been scored at home and their offensive might ranks only second to the no. 1 Trinity Western Spartans. Cole McFarlane leads the squad in scoring with six goals.

SCOUTING THE FRASER VALLEY CASCADES
Last Sunday the Cascades became the first team to keep the no. 1 Spartans off the scoresheet when they held their Langley rivals to a 0-0 draw. Despite boasting the conference's third-highest scorer in Robbie Fadden, Fraser Valley has only two wins this season and posts a 2-7-1 record.

HEAD TO HEAD
The Vikes have won the three previous meetings between the two sides and haven't lost to the Cascades since September 16 of '07. McFarlane is a striker the Cascades know all to well as the 2008 Canada West MVP netted four goals in those three wins.
