VICTORIA - #Erik Swinburnson# of the UVic Vikes men's golf team was the top individual finisher at the Vikes Shootout at Cordova Bay Golf Course. Swinburnson won the event with a two-round total of 140.
Swinburnson carded a 4-under 68 on Tuesday's final round. The low round, paired with his previous day's score of 72, was enough to clinch the tournament title for the fourth year Victoria native.
The UBC Thunderbirds won the team title for a second consecutive year. Led by Seon Kim, who finished one stroke behind Swinburnson at 141, the T-Birds had a total team score of 574. The Vikes finished five strokes behind their Point Grey rivals with a score of 579 in the 36-hole tournament.
#Jordan Ediger# placed third overall after carding a 142. The second year Calgary native provided Monday's low round with a 3-under 69. #James Holland# was right behind after firing a 2-under 70 on the final round to drop his total score to 144. #Chase Teron# rounded out the Vikes leaderboard with a two-day total of 145.
