VICTORIA - Facing their Gordon Head rivals, the UVic Vikes women's rugby team dropped a 24-16 decision to the Velox Valkyries Saturday afternoon.

The experience of the Velox won out over the young Vikes in a very physical contest, and broke UVic's two-game win streak.

#Jesse Olynyk# and #Erin Ryan# each had a conversion, and #Randi Hunter# booted a pair of converts.

The game was the last before the holiday break for the Vikes, who have a record of 3-2 in the Vancouver Island league.
