VICTORIA – While the rest of the Canada West jockeyed for playoff berths, the UVic Vikes men's soccer team spent their Saturday afternoon ensuring they wouldn't finish bottom of the table, recording a 1-0 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns.

The game's only goal came in the 26th minute when Vikes midfielder #Andrew Ravenhill# crossed to an awaiting #Bobby Eng#, who hammered the shot into the bottom left corner for his first score of the season.

Lethbridge 'keeper Jordan Campbell kept his squad in the game saving a penalty by Vikes striker #Wes Barrett# in the 30th minute. Campbell made five saves with the Vikes outshooting Lethbridge 19-9. Vikes 'keeper #Michael Branion-Calles# made five saves to record the shutout.

The Vikes (3-9-1) will look to finish their season on a positive note when they host the Calgary Dinos in their final match of the 2010 season. Kickoff at Centennial Stadium on Sunday is scheduled for 2:15pm.
