ABBOTSFORD – A week after defeating the Fraser Valley Cascades for their first win of the season, the UVic Vikes men's soccer team was dealt a 3-0 loss in the rematch.

Playing in front of his home crowd, Cascades 'keeper Colton Keam posted eight saves for his second shutout of the year, keeping the Vikes winless on the road.
The Vikes played much of the game shorthanded after #
Gavin Barrett# was red-carded in the 32nd minute for an infraction in the box. Sasa Plavsic converted the ensuing penalty kick to open the scoring.
Cascades striker Stuart Rowlands struck in the 33rd minute, connecting with an assist from Craig Robinson. Fraser Valley kept up the pressure in the second half and tallied their third goal when Juan P. Mora Perea's scored unassisted in the 56th minute.

Elliot Mitrou# made eight saves as the Vikes were outshot 17-11.
The loss drops the Vikes to 1-5-1 as they head into next weekend's road series against Saskatchewan and Alberta. Kickoff against the Huskies is scheduled for Saturday, October 16th at 2:15pm in Saskatoon.
