Silbernagel leads Pronghorns to upset over Vikes

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Brett Silbernagel scored in the 59th minute to lead the Lethbridge Pronghorns to their first victory over the UVic Vikes men's soccer team since October 13th, 2007.

The 1-0 loss sees the Vikes round out their first road trip of the 2010 Canada West season with a 0-2 record.

The Vikes registered nine shots on goal but were unable to solve Pronghorns 'keeper Colin Patterson who recorded his first clean sheet of the 2010 season. UVic goalkeeper #Elliot Mitrou# made four saves as the Vikes outshot their hosts 23-16.

The lone goal saw Silbernagel score off a blocked shot rebound in the Vikes box, his first ever goal in Canada West action.

The Vikes are on the road again next weekend when they face off against mainland rivals Trinity Western Spartans and the UBC Thunderbirds. The Vikes head to Langley first with a 7:00pm kickoff on Friday, September 17th.
