Velox defeated the University of Victoria Vikes women's rugby team 32-5 in the first game of the 2011 Women's Adidas Premiership division schedule.

"It was a very physical game," said UVic women's rugby head coach Brad Skene. "The Vikes defence in the first half was tenacious and firm. We had several chances to swing momentum but a few ill decisions at critical times gave Velox the advantage."

#Casandra Stevens# scored the lone UVic try with 20 minutes to play in the second half.

The Vikes have a bye week and then host United on Feb. 19 at Wallace Field at 11:30 a.m.
