VICTORIA - The University of Victoria women's rugby team heads to Lethbridge, Alta. for the 2023 Canada West Women's Rugby Championships, Oct. 19-22 on the campus of the University of Lethbridge.

NEWS & NOTES
- The Vikes finished the 2023 regular season with a 3-2 overall record, securing third place in the conference heading in to the playoffs.
- Victoria will take on Alberta in the semifinals, Oct. 19. Alberta finished the season with a 4-2 record, claiming the two seed.
- Matching up during the regular season, the Vikes came away with a 49-0 win over the Pandas Sept. 17 at Wallace Field.
- Maggie MacKinnon leads the Vikes in total points with 45 on the year, and also leads the team with 15 successful converts. Both figures rank third in Canada West.
- Four Vikes are tied for most tries on the season, with Ella O'Regan, Maelle Reed, Justine Blatt-Janmaat and Olivia Newsome each recording four on the year.
- The Vikes finished in runner-up position at the 2022 Canada West Championships, defeating Calgary, 34-8 in the semifinals and falling to UBC, 24-12, in the gold medal match.
