VICTORIA – A second-half goal from the University of the Fraser Valley gave the Cascades a 1-0 win over the University of Victoria women's soccer team, Sept. 10 at Centennial Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the first 45 minutes of play, the teams went in to the half scoreless.
- Right after the break, UFV scored the game-winner after a throw-in near the corner, taking a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute.
- The Vikes had a good look from Isabella Paccani in the 84th minute, as her shot forced the UFV keeper to dive. However, it went just wide and the game ended at 1-0 for UFV.
WORTH NOTING
- Paccani made her 2023 season debut for the Vikes, recording 18 minutes on the field.
- Kayley Lidstone tallied four saves for Victoria.
- The Vikes out-shot UFV 11-5 overall, but both teams with finished with five shots on goal.
- UFV improves to 3-1-1 with the win, while the Vikes move to 2-3-0 through five games.
