Langley, BC – The University of Victoria women's soccer team play to a draw with the Trinity Western Spartans, Oct. 11 at Chase Office Field.
Vikes off a corner kick made it 1-0
- In the 14th minute, Adrianna Hilton placed a perfect cross of a corner and Brianne McLeish headed home the first of the game. This was McLeish's third of the season and put the Vikes in front 1-0.
Spartans tie it up
- In the 26th minute, the Spartans scored off of a shot from far outside the box, initially saved but the ball spun in off the grass.
Nicholas put the Vikes on top
- Adrianna Hilton with her second assist of the match as she threaded a long cross to Ruby Nicholas for her to beat the keeper. Vikes took the 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute of the game.
Spartans tied in the last minute of the game
- Off a free kick, the Spartans created a scrum in the box and were able to capitalize to tie the match 2-2 in the 90th minute.
Notables
- With the tie, the Vikes move to 5-3-4 and the Spartans move to 8-3-1 on the season.
The Vikes will head to Vancouver next weekend as they play Oct. 17 and 18 against the UBC Thunderbirds to close out the season.
