Victoria, BC – The University of Victoria men's basketball team went on the road and bested the University of Fraser Valley 84-76, Oct. 25 at UFV Athletic Centre.
The Vikes and Cascades traded shots in the high-scoring first half.
- The game began as a high-scoring offensive battle as the Vikes clung to a 46-41 lead as the game headed for halftime.
Vikes closed out the game in the second half.
- The Cascades made the game tighter as they battled in the third quarter. After three, the game stood 65-63 for the Vikes.
- Slaymaker, Boag, Smid, and Robinson all scored in double figures as the Vikes closed the game out in the fourth quarter, shooting 49.1% from the field.
- The Vikes held the Cascades to 13 fourth-quarter points, securing the road victory.
Notables
- Ethan Boag led the way for the Vikes, scoring 20 points on 8-10 shooting from the field.
- Renaldo Robinson led the way for Vikes on the glass as he grabbed 11 rebounds.
- Cameron Slaymaker made his first career start for the Vikes. Slaymaker had 15 points and nine rebounds in a stellar introduction to the starting lineup.
- The Vikes continue their undefeated streak from last year as they move to 2-0. The Spartans will fall to 0-2 with the loss.
