Victoria, BC – The University of Victoria women's soccer team defeated Thompson Rivers University 3-1, Oct. 3 at Centennial Stadium.
Vikes jumped out to an early lead
McDonald struck again
- In the 37th minute, off of a bouncing ball that got past WolfPack's defenders and McDonald capitalized. This was her second of the game and extended the Vikes' lead to 2-0.
TRU answered with a goal of their own
- Off a long cross, the WolfPack were able to find the back of the net to cut the Vikes' lead to 2-1.
McDonald completed the hat-trick
- Ruby Nicholas sprung Abby McDonald with a stretch pass that sent her into the WolfPack's box with only the keeper to beat. McDonald made no mistake as she completed the illustrious hat-trick.
Notables:
- McDonald's three goals double her career total to six.
- With the win, the Vikes improve to 4-2-3 while the WolfPack fall to 5-6.
The Vikes will return to action against UBC Okanagan, Oct. 4, at Centennial Stadium.
