Thunderbirds draw first blood, 1-0
- In the 19th minute of action, two Thunderbirds' forwards were sprung on a long stretch pass and a two on one. This rush resulted in the opening goal of the game and a Thunderbirds' 1-0 lead.

- In the 37th minute, a shot from roughly 25-feet out found the back of the net to extend the Thunderbirds' lead to 2-0.
