Biography
Ada Jane Okonkwo was born April 11 in Lagos, Nigeria. She is a daughter to Emmanuel and Adaeze Okonkwo and has 1 sibling as well as an adorable nephew. In 2010, solely she moved to Winnipeg, MB where she completed her Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. Later in life, while representing work at a caregiver coalition, she discovered Rugby, joined the Winnipeg Wanderers RFC and fell in love with the sport immediately. After 2 years of playing, she was awarded "most improved player" and was offered the opportunity to coach U16 girls at a regional level. She is currently seeking to further her education in Public Health. Ada is passionate about exploring various intersections and social dimensions of health and inequities for marginalized and racialized groups. Â
