Andrea Rushton is a former Vikes women's field hockey player and CIS Athlete of the Year. Rushton competed for Canada since 2000 where she began at the 2000 Junior World Cup qualifier moving on to the senior team where she amassed 127 international caps. Andrea competed in two Commonwealth Games (2002, 2005) and two Pan American Games (2003, 2007).Â
Andrea has been assisting the Vikes program since her national team retirement in 2008. Andrea is a Victoria native and a graduate of Mount Douglas Secondary. Andrea is a highly recognized coach, having spent time leading Under 18 BC provincial teams, as well as running and contributing to the island's Under 18 and Under 15 regional development programs.
