Josh Reddy entered his third season as the Vikes men's basketball program's lead assistant coach in 2025-26. Reddy was previously in Victoria from 2021-23 as the video coordinator and player development coach.
This past season, Reddy assisted the Vikes to a 17-3 record, the Canada West Pacific Division Title, and the Canada West gold medal. Reddy, a tactical specialist, used his skills in scouting and player development to help Vikes players capture multiple conference individual awards. Powered by Reddy’s behind-the-scenes preparation and support, Ethan Boag secured Canada West Player of the Year, while Geoffrey James took home Defensive Player of the Year.
In his first season as the lead assistant in 2024-25, Reddy helped the Vikes to a perfect 20-0 record in Canada West play and 25-1 overall mark, capturing the conference bronze medal and U SPORTS national title. The Vikes saw Sam Maillet garner conference and national Defensive Player of the Year honours, while Renoldo Robinson was named a U SPORTS First Team All-Canadian.
Reddy came back to the island after spending the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach with the University of Winnipeg men's basketball program.
Immersed in the local basketball scene, Reddy has served as an assistant coach and video coordinator for both the Vancouver Bandits and Winnipeg Sea Bears in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He has also worked with Canada Basketball as a coaching staff assistant, contributing to practice drills and supporting the team's video coordinator with film logistics, analytics, and player scouting for AmeriCup roles that have enabled him to learn from various philosophies and leaders across the country.
Originally from Victoria, Reddy completed his undergraduate degree in sports management at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC, and later earned a master's in sports and athletic administration from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA.
