 Fourth-year Vikes swimmer Eric Hedlin won two gold medals and a bronze this past weekend at the Canada West Championships. The San Diego native successfully defended his gold medal from the 2017 Canada West in the 1500-metre freestyle race posting a time 15:28.11. Hedlin improved on his Canada West silver medal from 2017 by capturing a gold this year in the 400-metre freestyle with a time of 3:51.96. The 4x200-metre freestyle relay team of Buzz Mallender, Austin Phillips, Josh Zakala and Hedlin also won the bronze medal.
