Flock and Snell provide winning combination

VICTORIA - #Kendra Flock# and #Jackie Snell# proved to be a winning combination as they led the UVic Vikes women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the Regina Cougars at Centennial Stadium.

Flock scored in the 23rd and 70th minutes, with Snell assisting on both goals to see the Vikes rebound from Saturday's first loss of the season against the Manitoba Bisons. Flock leads her team in scoring after netting eight goals in her last five outings.

"Any time you have a combination clicking and scoring goals like that it's a great thing for your team," Vikes head coach #Tracy David# said after the match.

The Vikes managed only two goals despite peppering Regina 'keeper Michelle Anderson with 14 shots on net. Anderson leads the Canada West conference with 54 saves. Vikes 'keeper #Stephanie Parker# picked up her second shutout of the season.

The Vikes head into next weekend's series against the Saskatchewan Huskies and Alberta Pandas with a 4-1 record. Kickoffs are scheduled for 12 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at Centennial Stadium.
