Strong second half lifts Huskies over Vikes

SASKATOON – Despite grabbing the early lead on a goal by rookie #Carly Branion-Calles#, the UVic Vikes women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Saskatchewan Huskies.

Branion-Calles' goal came in the 10th minute with #Nathalie Scharf# being accredited the assist.

Saskatchewan scored twice in the second half, including a 67th minute tally from Elizabeth Hudon, who now leads the league with nine goals scored.

The Vikes were outshot 12-14 with goalkeeper #Stephanie Parker# posting seven saves.

The loss drops the Vikes to 2-4-3 ahead of Sunday's clash with undefeated conference leaders Alberta Pandas. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00pm in Edmonton at Foote Field.
