VICTORIA – The UVic Vikes women's soccer team dropped their first loss of the season by a score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, when the no. 7 UBC Thunderbirds unleashed three goals in the span of 11 minutes.
The scoreless game was blown wide open in the 75th minute when T-Birds striker Lisa Furutani scored unassisted, chipping over Vikes' keeper #

UBC striker Janine Frazao struck six minutes later and Furutani added the insurance marker in the 85th minute.
UBC 'keeper Leah Peric recorded the shutout with the T-Birds outshooting the Vikes 22-5.
The loss drops the Vikes to 2-1-3 before they head to the mainland for a Thanksgiving double-header versus the UBC Thunderbirds and Trinity Western Spartans. Kickoff against UBC is scheduled for 5:00pm on Friday, October 8th in Vancouver.
