VANCOUVER - For the second week in a row the UVic Vikes women's soccer team was blanked by the UBC Thunderbirds, suffering a 2-0 loss at the Point Grey campus.

The no. 9 ranked T-Birds, who shutout the Vikes 3-0 last Sunday at Centennial Stadium, scored in the 24th and 44th minutes. Kelly Cook scored the first and the insurance marker was an own goal, a casualty of an errant clearance attempt from a UBC cross.

Stephanie Parker# made four stops between the posts, while her counterpart Leah Peric earned the shutout without really being challenged. Shots were 8-2 in favour of UBC, with the T-Birds also producing six corner attempts.
The loss drops the Vikes mark to 2-2-3, while UBC improves to 6-2-1 and moves into second place. The Vikes will look to rebound Saturday against the two-time defending CIS champion Trinity Western Spartans.
