The University of Victoria Vikes men's basketball team won its seventh straight game of the season with a 72-70 win over the Thompson Rivers WolfPack on Friday night at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops, B.C.
With the win, the Vikes improve to 14-7 on the season while the WolfPack drop to 4-17.

The Vikes jumped out to an early 26-15 lead and never looked back.

Ryan MacKinnon# led the Vikes with 25 points, adding five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block. #

Wendell Thomas# pulled down seven rebounds, four on the offensive glass.
Thompson Rivers forward Greg Stewart, the Canada West rebounding leader, pulled down 24 rebounds and added a game-high 29 points, getting to the charity stripe 11 times for the WolfPack. His teammate Chas Kok added 25 points in the loss.
The WolfPack went on a 10-0 run in the latter stages of the third quarter to cut UVic's lead to 54-51. With the score tied at 70, Kevin Pribilsky, a Victoria, B.C. native playing with the WolfPack, fouled MacKinnon and the fourth-year guard from Comox, B.C., sank two free-throws for the victory with 15.9 seconds left.
The VIkes men play the WolfPack again on Saturday Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. in Kamloops, B.C.
