The University of Victoria Vikes men's soccer team swept their Sept. 14-15 weekend on the road, sealing their third win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Mount Royal Cougars. The Vikes now sit a top the Canada West Pacific Division with a 3-1-0 record, tied with UBC, while the Cougars are 1-2-1.

The Vikes tallied goals from familiar names, as
Cam Hundal picked up his fourth goal in as many games, while
Sam Prette and
Kurt Macaulay scored their first goals of the season. Senior keeper
Elliot Mitrou made three saves in the game as the Vikes out-shot the Cougars 16-8.Â
The Vikes got on the board in the 12th minute of play when
Craig Gorman set up Prette for a blast on target for the 1-0 lead. Just before the half-time break, Hundal scored on the fast break with the assist getting credited to
Andrew Ravenhill. Prette and Hundal's goals stood as the lone tallies as the Vikes entered the break with a 2-0 edge.
The game was a chippy affair that saw a number of fouls and cautions including a yellow card caution to both Cam Stokes and
Craig Taylor. The referee went to his pocket for four Mount Royal players  as well.Â
In the 85th minute the Kurt Macauly scored to give Victoria a 3-0 lead.
As the game fell into injury time Mount Royal finally got on the board as a Cougar player was nailed with an elbow in the box giving the Cougars a penalty kick. Tyrin Hutchings stepped up and buried the Cougars lone goal of the game.
The final 3-1 scoreline was enough to give the Vikes their third win of the season and seal top of the Pacific Division alongside the Thunderbirds. Up next, the Vikes will host another very important weekend of soccer as the UBC Thunderbirds and Trinity Western will return to Centennial Stadium Sept. 20-21. All games will be broadcast live at http://canadawest.tv
