VICTORIA, B.C. - The University of Victoria Vikes swimming team headed to Nanaimo this weekend, Oct. 24-25, for their first swim meet of the year. The 2015 Nanaimo Short Course Fall Invitational meet was held at the Nanaimo Aquatic Center and featured 14 events.

The Vikes team was looking for some short course race experience as a tune-up heading into a few weeks of consecutive swim meets. Overall the team swam quite well with some surprisingly fast results for this time of the season and the team took some good strides towards building up to fast performances this season. 

Highlights of the meet included multiple personal best performances from rookie Kara Wilson, a best time for Richard Bourgeois in the 100 Butterfly and a near best time for Brett Zollen in the 100 Freestyle.
