The Vikes swim team built off some positive results in Nanaimo on Oct. 24-25 at the 2015 Nanaimo Short Course Fall Invitational, including first-year Vike
Kara Wilson setting new personal bests time this past weekend. Fourth-year Vike
Brett Zollen and third year
Evan Letkeman impressed in the men's 100-m freestyle with times of 53.02 and 53.61, respectively. Zollen finished second overall.

"The senior circuit was the first chance for the team to get some long course racing practice in," said Vikes swimming head coach
Peter Vizsolyi. "This is important as CIS championships and Olympic Trials will both be long course and racing opportunities before then are mostly short course. As a whole, the team took another step forward in their preparations for the season this weekend and now have more results to build on."
Â
The Vikes compete in their third competition in as many weeks next weekend, Nov. 7-8, at the College Cup Meet in Vancouver at UBC before gearing up for the Canada West Swimming Chapionship hosted by UBC Nov. 27-28. This year the conference championships are in the fall, while the CIS Championship remains in the second semester, set for Feb. 26-28 in Quebec City, Que.
