VICTORIA- Vikes Nation and the University of Victoria Vikes Athletics and Recreation department are excited to host the 6th Annual ThunderFest event from 12-4 p.m., outside the UVic Student Union Building on Sept. 11.

ThunderFest provides the UVic student body a chance to kick off the varsity athletic season, gain information about campus recreation opportunities and to find out the various ways of getting active and involved through Vikes Nation. The afternoon is intended for all students, staff and faculty members of the campus community.
 
ThunderFest will feature a live DJ spinning, bands playing on the roof of the SUB, over 30 booths with give-aways and lots of games to play. Come meet Vikes varsity teams, learn about Vikes Nation and the large variety of recreation programming! Booths from departments from all over campus will be present and there will be lots of games to play, including Bubble Soccer and the Big Baller inflatable.
 
ThunderFest will also feature three major giveaways ($500 dollar tuition credit, $500 UniGlobe Travel Voucher, or 2 Rifflandia Super Passes courtesy of the Zone FM) that can be won by filling out the official ThunderFest passport, available from any Vikes Nation booth or official volunteer at ThunderFest. Winners of the prizes will be announced at the home-opener Vikes men's soccer game against UNBC, which begins at 7:15 p.m. at Centennial Stadium. You have to be present at the game to claim your prize!
 
Admission to both Vikes soccer games are free of cost for full-time students, faculty, and staff when they swipe their UVic ONECard.
