The Vikes men and women will race in four middle to long distance events this weekend including the 1500-metre, 600-metre and both the 4x400-metre and 4x800-metre relays. All competing athletes for the Vikes at the CIS championships took part in the Canada West championships two weeks prior on Feb. 26-27.

"We had plenty of success at the Canada West championships and our runners are eager to carry that momentum onto the big stage," said Vikes head coach Brent Fougner. "You can see the excitement and I feel we could witness some great races from the Vikes this weekend."

The Vikes 4x800-metre men and women's teams will compete on Friday, Mar. 11 in the night's final events at 5:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. PST. Fifth year Shauna McInnis, first year Vanessa Sjoberg, second year Caroline Harrell and third year Andrea Robinson will take to the line for the women while fourth year Brendon Restall, third year Tyler Smith and first years Thomas Oxland and Ryan Korol will compete for the men.
