FAST FACTS
- The unbeaten, 4-0-2 Vikes women's team enter the weekend after re-joining the U SPORTS rankings at No. 10. The undefeated 8-0-0 Spartans hold the No. 2 spot on the top-10 list.
- The Vikes men (2-1-3) will take on a Trinity Western team ranked No. 8 by U SPORTS, at 3-1-4.
- In the conference, the women sit in third place in the Canada West west division, while the men are in fourth.
- On the women's side, Kayley Lidstone and the Vikes' defence have allowed only one goal all season. Entering on a five-match shutout streak, UVic has not conceded a goal since the fourth minute of their season-opener, Sept. 10.
- The women have had eight different goal scorers so far in 2021, with Emma Skalik, Dari Coté, and Trinity Kettyls leading the team with two goals each.
- The men's side broke their scoring drought with a stoppage time goal from Sylvain Taghaoussi to equalize with Thompson Rivers, Sept. 25, in their last outing.
- Proving that early deficits are nothing to panic about, the UVic men have twice comeback from being down at the half to equalize and earn a point.
