Edmonton, Alta. – The University of Victoria swimming teams added two more medals and set one new school record on day two of the Canada West swimming championships, Nov. 27.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Over the 12 individual events on day two, the Vikes posted 40 entries to the finals.
• Sophie Tarrant swam 1:08.94 in the 100 breast final to take silver and earn her second medal of the championships after taking bronze in the 50 breast on day one.
• Tarrant's time set a new UVic school record, exceeding the previous 1:09.89 time held by UVic Sports Hall of Fame member Christin Petelski set Jan. 1, 1998.
• Lauren Crisp repeated as a 200 back medalist, improving upon her 2019 bronze medal finish. Crisp swam 2:11.95 in the finals to take second place, improving one spot from her third-place, 2:14.20 prelim swim.
• Adding top-five finishes in the finals, Elijah Agostinelli Stull took fourth in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.02, while Lauren Taylor took fifth in the 50 free with a 26.56 finish.
• The women's and men's 4x100 relay squads took fourth and fifth with times of 3:54.41 and 3:26.17, respectively.
• Jacob Rambo notched his second U SPORTS qualifying time in as many days, going 4:26.09 in the 400 IM. Ethan Hemeon added his second national qualifying time of the season, clocking in at 1:02.55 in the 100 breast.
• After two days of competition, the Vikes remain in third on the men's side and fourth on the women's side as teams.
