Kingston, Ont. – The University of Victoria women's rugby team begins play at the U SPORTS championships Wednesday, Nov. 10, facing the University of Guelph at 11 a.m. PT.

	- The Vikes enter the national championship tournament with a 4-3 overall record, comprised of a 3-2 regular season showing and 1-1 playoff record en route to a Canada West silver medal finish.
- The Gryphons head to Kingston as the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) champion, sitting a 5-1 overall with a 3-1 conference record and 2-0 mark in postseason play.
- Victoria and Guelph met in the U SPORTS quarterfinals in 2018, with the Gryphons taking a 54-10 win over the Vikes to advance to the semifinals. While the Vikes were in striking distance, 14-10, at the half, Guelph came back to score six unanswered tries for the win.
- Canada West Rookie of the Year and Back Three All-Star Larah Wright leads the Vikes in scoring with four tries on the season, three in the regular season and one in the playoffs.
- The Vikes will also be led by Canada West Prop All-Star Ada Okonkwo and Canada West Back Row All-Star and team captain Chanelle Edwards-Challenger, who have each registered tries for UVic this season and are key play-makers for the Vikes.
- UVic will be without Renee Gonzalez, Canada West All-Star Sara Kaljuvee, and Gabrielle Senft for the national championships, as they are currently travelling with Rugby Canada as members of the Women's Senior National 15s Tour.
