VICTORIA – Opening its home-and-home series with the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria men's soccer team drew with the Thunderbirds, 1-1, Oct. 6 at Centennial Stadium.

- Putting a well-placed cross into the box, UBC connected via header to score and take the lead.
68th Minute – UVic 1, UBC 1
- Driving down the field, Fin Tugwell launched the ball from the left side to a waiting Nick Park in the centre of the box, who kept it on the ground to send it over the line for the equalizer.
WORTH NOTING
- The goal for Park marked his third of the season.
- Tugwell recorded his first career point as a Vike with the assist on Park's goal.
- A relatively even game, the Thunderbirds finished with the 13-11 advantage in total shots and 8-6 edge in shots on goal.
- Harjot Nijjar tallied six saves for the Vikes.
- The tie marked the second for UBC in their Canada West season, moving to 5-3-2 on the year.
- UVic now sits at 2-5-4 with the tie.
