Kamloops, B.C. – The University of Victoria men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Thompson Rivers University, Aug. 27 at Hillside Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
55th Minute – TRU 1, UVic 0
- The WolfPack scored the first goal of the game on a header off a corner kick.
64th Minute – TRU 2, UVic 0
- A second header from TRU doubled the lead for the hosts.
71st Minute – TRU 3, UVic 0
- The home side increased their lead to 3-0 with a laser shot from the top of the box.
WORTH NOTING
- Sam McDonald saw a pair of scoring chances for the Vikes via headers in the first half, however, the WolfPack goalkeeper would make the save on both occasions.
- Scoreless at the half, the Vikes trailed the WolfPack in shots (5-2), shots on goal (2-1), and corners (6-1).
- TRU finished the game with a 10-3 advantage in shots taken, 6-2 lead in shots on goal, and 7-5 edge in corners over the Vikes.
- Nick Park led the Vikes with two shots, both of which were on frame.
- Harjot Nijjar recorded two saves for UVic.
- The Vikes move to 0-1-1 after the first weekend of play, while TRU improves to 2-0-0.
