Women's soccer takes on UBC Thursday night

VICTORIA - The University of Victoria women's soccer team heads to Vancouver, B.C. to take on mainland rival University of British Columbia Thursday, Sept. 1.

SERIES HISTORY
  • The Vikes hold a record of 1-1-3 in their last five matchups with the Thunderbirds.
  • UVic and UBC met twice during the 2021 season. The Thunderbirds took game one, 3-1, while the two sides finished in a 1-1 draw in game two, Oct. 22-23, 2021 at Centennial Stadium.
  • The last time the Vikes played in Vancouver, UVic came away with a 3-1 win (Oct. 12, 2019).

  • Kayley Lidstone recorded a career-high 13 saves in the Vikes' season-opener against the Spartans, and followed up by posting her first clean sheet of the season against the Cascades. Lidstone currently has 16 saves on the season.
  • The Thunderbirds' Danielle Steer comes into the weekend as the Canada West Player of the Week after posting four goals and two assists in a six-point weekend.
