VICTORIA – The University of Victoria men's soccer team created chances, but were unable to convert and ultimately fell to Mount Royal University, 1-0, Sept. 25 at Centennial Stadium.

- Getting a 3-on-1 advantage off a breakaway, the Cougars charged into the box and made the most of their advantage to put the ball in the back of the net for the game-winner.
WORTH NOTING
- The Vikes earned back-to-back-to-back corners in the 86th minute, and while the ball was placed well in the box, it was unable to find a Vikes player to connect with.
- UVic held the 10-7 advantage in shots after 90 minutes of play, but MRU had the edge in shots on goal at 4-2.
- Harjot Nijjar recorded three saves in net.
- Jonas Zimmermann and Harry Ritter West each put a shot on frame for the Vikes, while Nick Park and Dusan Mitrovic led Victoria with two shots each.
- Mount Royal remains unbeaten at 7-0-2 with the win, while the Vikes fall to 2-5-3 with the setback.
