Against the Griffins: The Vikes are 3-2-0 in their last five meetings against MacEwan.
- The two sides last met in the Canada West playoff quarterfinals, Oct. 27, 2019 in Edmonton, Alta. MacEwan came away with the 1-0 win.
- The last time the Vikes and Griffins met in Victoria was Sept. 30, 2017, when the Vikes came away with a 1-0 win.
Against the Pandas: UVic holds a 2-1-2 record against Alberta in its last five Canada West meetings.
- The Vikes and Pandas last met Oct. 15, 2017 in Edmonton, where Vikes came away with 1-0 win.

- The Vikes enter the weekend with a 0-2-1 overall record. Searching for their first win of the season, the Vikes have fallen to Trinity Western and UBC, while posting a scoreless draw against Fraser Valley so far in 2022.
- Alberta and MacEwan each hold 1-1-0 records, having split the two-game series against each other opening weekend. MacEwan took game one, 3-1, while Alberta came back to take game two, 5-2, Aug. 26-28.
- For the Vikes, Kayley Lidstone's 22 saves are the most by any goalkeeper in Canada West so far this season. Emma Skalik leads UVic with three shots on goal, having put all three of her shots taken so far this season on target.
- Alberta's Erin Hope ranks fourth in the conference in points (4), having tallied one goal and three assists through her first two games.
- Erin Van Dolder leads MacEwan with three goals in two games so far in 2022.
- The Vikes will face competition from Canada West Prairie Division opponents in the regular season for the first time since 2019 when the Griffins and Pandas arrive in Victoria. A regional schedule in 2021 due to COVID-19 limited inter-province travel and opponents faced.
- Vikes head coach Tracy David has a long history with the University of Alberta as both a student-athlete and coach. A member of the first-ever Pandas soccer team in 1983, she then spent 16 seasons as the head coach (1985-2000). A University of Alberta Sports Wall of Fame inductee, David won two national championships and five conference titles while at the helm of the Pandas' program.
