NEWS & NOTES
- The Head of the Gorge races take place Saturday, starting near Victoria's historic Old Town and finishing at Esquimalt Park. The Tail of the Gorge races run on Sunday, beginning in the Portage Inlet, runs south under the Craigflower Bridge, and finishes back at Esquimalt Park. Â
- The Vikes are coming off strong showings at the Western Canadian University Rowing Championships, Oct. 7, to open the season.
- The women's side captured three golds along with six additional podium finishes, while the men's side finished with one gold medal and 11 more podium finishes in the season-opening regatta.
